Cinderella Dreams 2014
You can make a difference in a girl’s life.
Can you imagine being a teenage girl dreaming about attending her junior or senior prom, only to realize that the cost of a dress is out of reach?
That’s where the Cinderella Dreams Project comes in. The Midlothian Junior Women’s Club, Puritan Cleaners, and YMCAs of Greater Richmond are joining forces to ensure that no young woman is denied her chance to experience a quintessential event of adolescence – attending her Prom.
The Cinderella Dreams Project aims to help shoulder the financial burden of attending this formal event by providing gowns and accessories for free to any girl who, like Cinderella, needs help obtaining a gown for the ball.
The Cinderella Dreams Prom Dress Project is held each spring. Prom dresses, jewelry, shoes, makeup and other prom-related accessories that are collected at Richmond-area YMCA branches and Puritan Cleaners during February.
A ‘shopping’ event is then held in the Spring, where girls can shop for and select a dress and accessories for free. Since 2006, Cinderella Dreams Project has partnered with local businesses to help hundreds of girls fulfill their prom dreams at no cost to them!
The Cinderella Dreams Project is now accepting donations of new and gently used gowns in current styles for 2014.
If you are interested in donating a dress, please email donations@cinderelladreams.net for more information.
Donations are accepted at any Puritan Cleaners location, and at the YMCAs of Greater Richmond.
On March 14th, 16th, and 18th, girls can come to the Cinderella Dreams storefront located at Westchester Commons between Regal Cinemas and Petco, and select a gown for a suggested $5.00 donation. If you or your business would like to help with any aspect of the project, contact the 2014 Cinderella Dreams Project Chairs at info@cinderelladreams.net. We, and the girls, thank you for your support!
