National Dry Cleaning Day – March 3rd

We celebrate National Dry Cleaning Day on March 3rd every year! Dry cleaning is a process that’s been around for centuries, but the process as we know it was pioneered by an African-American tradesman and abolitionist in New York City by the name of Thomas Jennings. Mr. Jennings was born to a free family in […]

  • Where’d That Stain Come From?

Your favorite perfumes or colognes make you ‘scent’-sational, but their high alcohol content can stain your garments. In addition to being named the Best Dry Cleaner in Richmond, VA for over 2 decades and one of America's Best Cleaners, we're also committed to doing our part for our neighborhood, and we are proud of our community programs. Through our signature program, Puritan Cleaners Coats For Kids, we've collected well over 300,000 coats for the Salvation Army since we started in 1988. We've also partnered with the Central Virginia Food Bank to raise over 400,000 meals through our 100K Meals program. We also have programs that support our troops, the Junior Women's League, and the Cancer Society. We love the Richmond community, and appreciate your support.

Inspect jackets and coats for damage, tears or stains before hanging on a well-padded hanger for storage. Use leather conditioner on dry spots like elbows and seams. Frequently worn items should […]

Hello Spring

Hello Spring! If you’re ready to store away your winter clothing for another year, be sure that’s everything’s clean. Even minor splashes and spills will oxidize and discolor over time. Body oils, perspiration and food or beverage stains can attract insect damage. After cleaning, store everything in garment storage bags that allow your clothes to breathe, and keep stored clothing […]
